We previously discussed the requirement for a Supplier Label to contain a Pictogram. These are graphic images that immediately show you what sort of hazard is present when using a chemical. For example, you should be able to quickly look at a label and determine that a product is Flammable or a Health Hazard.
Below you will see a poster that should be hanging in your workplace from the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety. It provides you with some brief information about the different pictograms.
We will go into further details for each of them in the following slides. Some of the explanations may seem a bit scientific, don't worry about memorizing all of the facts. You just need to understand what each symbol represents and the type of hazards it may create.
