Below you will see a sample Supplier Label and all of the pieces of information that are required. You may notice that it looks different to our previous example. No two labels will be exactly the same and as long as they contain they required information they are still valid.
Can you identify all of the required elements in the label below?
Product Identifier
Supplier Identifier
Pictograms
Signal Word
Hazard Statement
Precautionary Statements
In this instance a product name has been used instead of a chemical name.
This tells us who made the product, their address and contact phone number.
In this example we have both the Exclamation Mark and Skull with Crossbones pictograms. We will shortly explain exactly what they mean.
The word Danger has been used which indicates to us that this product carries a high risk.
These easy to read sentences tell you what can go wrong if the product is not correctly handled. In this example there are two different chemical exposures, swallowing and skin contact.
This list of statements tells us what to do not only how to prevent an injury but how to handle an accidental exposure.
